FREE ART FRIDAY
Free Art Friday is a global, grassroots art movement where artists leave original pieces of artwork—like paintings, sketches and prints etc in public spaces for anyone to find and keep for free.
The concept operates like an urban treasure hunt in your city.
The Little Lost Art Festival contains two Free Art Fridays.
Friday October 2nd and 9th
HOW IT WORKS
MAKE IT: Create a small artwork
MARK IT: Fill out the 'Free Art Friday' postcard and place it with your work in a ziplock bag.
HIDE IT: Secretly hide your work, in a public space, on Friday morning.
SEEK IT: Take some photos and post clues to the location of your hidden art on social media (Sharing to the Free Art Friday – Whangarei Facebook page) along with vague clues, and let the public find it.
TIPS FOR ARTISTS
• Include your socials with your artwork, so the Finder can Find and Thank you.
• Make sure to only post clues on Friday.
• Tease with Artwork Photos, then make it a challenge to find • Each artist is responsible for their own artwork - creating, hiding, sharing clues on the dedicated Facebook page. • Clues start vague and get easier until someone finds the artwork.
Tease with Artwork Photos, then make it a challenge to find.
