Are you an artist, crafter, or object maker? The Little Lost Art Festival is seeking artists who wish to transform Whangārei’s secret spaces with small-scale installations, pop-up exhibitions, and curated moments of curiosity across the city.
We welcome painters, sculptors, printmakers, illustrators, crafters, zine-makers, and anyone keen to add their artistic touch to public installations and lost art treasure hunts. These little acts of art bring a sense of fun, play, and discovery to the city.
Whether you’re an experienced maker or simply keen to try something new, we invite you to join us—share your ideas, collaborate with fellow creatives, and help turn Whangārei into a playground of imagination.

A zine is a small, self-published booklet or magazine, made by hand & created for self-expression rather than profit.
Historically zines are linked to punk scenes, feminist movements, queer communities, political activism and fan cultures - giving voice to communities that are often silenced, ignored or misrepresented by traditional media.
Zines are informal and experimental, mixing writing, drawing, collage, photography, handwriting and found materials. They do not need to look polished, their rough, personal style is part of their charm.
